    • Proactively seek new methods of working to improve operational efficiency and reduce costs, ensuring maximum productivity within the cardiology service.
    • Contribute to the development of policies and procedures for cardiology staff and support effective communication networks within the community setting.
  3. Training & Development:
    • Provide training to staff on cardiology techniques and procedures in line with policies and best practices.
    • Participate in the education and training of physicians, nursing staff, and support staff in cardiac physiology techniques.
    • Engage in personal and departmental development through participation in audit programmes, clinical practice reviews, and annual appraisals.
  4. Equipment & Technical Support:
    • Offer technical specifications and advice for proposed equipment acquisitions, ensuring alignment with clinical needs and standards.
    • Utilise GE equipment and the templated reporting system on System One to deliver accurate diagnostic results.
  5. Patient Care & Communication:
    • Respond directly to patient queries regarding appointments, either in person or over the phone.
    • Recognise the urgency of clinical requests and prioritise tasks accordingly.
    • Promote patient confidentiality and uphold patients’ rights at all times.
  6. Audit & Quality Improvement:
    • Participate in departmental and service-wide audits to evaluate clinical practice and patient outcomes.
    • Contribute to service improvement activities aimed at enhancing the patient experience and clinical effectiveness.

Requirements:

  • Membership of the British Society of Echocardiography (BSE) or equivalent qualification.
  • Demonstrable post-qualification experience in cardiology.
  • Eligibility to work in the UK in line with UKBA Immigration Regulations.
  • Access to transport to move between clinic sites.
  • Experience using GE ultrasound equipment and reporting systems such as System One.
