Job Overview: As a Community Psychiatric Nurse, you will play a crucial role in the mental health support system of the Scottish Islands. Working closely with individuals, families, and local healthcare teams, you will be responsible for assessing, planning, and delivering comprehensive psychiatric care. This role involves working collaboratively with various stakeholders to ensure the provision of holistic and patient-centred care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conducting thorough psychiatric assessments and developing care plans for individuals.
- Providing ongoing support and intervention for individuals experiencing mental health challenges.
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, including social workers, psychologists, and general practitioners.
- Offering psychoeducation to clients and their families to enhance understanding and coping mechanisms.
- Administering medication and monitoring its effectiveness, as prescribed by psychiatrists.
- Participating in crisis intervention and emergency response as necessary.
- Advocating for the rights and needs of individuals with mental health issues.

Requirements:
- Registered Nurse with a valid licence from the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC).
- Post-registration qualification in Mental Health Nursing.
- Experience working as a Community Psychiatric Nurse.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
