We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Histopathology Consultant to join a dynamic and supportive team in West Yorkshire.
This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to the high-quality diagnostic services within a busy and well-respected pathology department. You will play a key role in providing expert clinical support in histopathology, supporting multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring excellent patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide expert clinical leadership in Histopathology, interpreting and reporting on a wide range of samples, including routine, urgent, and complex cases.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings and offer guidance on pathological findings.
- Engage in the training and mentorship of junior staff, including medical trainees and pathologists in training.
- Maintain and improve departmental standards, ensuring compliance with professional guidelines and safety protocols.
- Contribute to clinical audits, research, and quality improvement initiatives within the department.
- Liaise closely with other healthcare professionals, ensuring high levels of communication and collaboration to deliver optimal patient outcomes.
Essential Criteria:
- Full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC).
- Relevant experience as a consultant in Histopathology, with significant diagnostic expertise.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a commitment to delivering high-quality patient care.
- Evidence of involvement in teaching, research, or audit activities.
Desirable Criteria:
- Experience in specific subspecialties within Histopathology, such as Head & Neck, Breast, GI pathology, Lung, Gynae and Medical Renal.
- Active participation in clinical governance and quality improvement initiatives.
