We are seeking skilled and compassionate Band 4 Phlebotomists to join our dedicated healthcare teams across Liverpool and Whiston.
You will be a vital part of our patient care services, ensuring the safe and efficient collection of blood samples for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform venepuncture and collect blood samples from patients in a variety of settings (inpatient wards, outpatient clinics, and community settings).
- Ensure accurate labeling and documentation of specimens in line with NHS protocols.
- Maintain a high standard of infection control and patient care.
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to provide seamless healthcare services.
- Provide emotional support and reassurance to patients, ensuring a comfortable experience.
What We’re Looking For:
- Completion of an accredited Phlebotomy training program.
- Proven experience in venepuncture and phlebotomy practice (minimum 1 year preferred).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with patients and colleagues.
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail.
- Commitment to maintaining patient dignity and confidentiality.
- A caring and empathetic approach to patient care.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent) or evidence of equivalent experience.
- Current certification in phlebotomy practice.
- Ability to work flexibly, including weekends and shifts, if required.
- Full UK driving license and access to a vehicle (desirable for community-based roles).
