We are looking for Senior Neonatal Nurse (Band 6) – NICU
Job Purpose:
The Senior Neonatal Nurse will provide high-quality nursing care to critically ill neonates in the NICU, ensuring the delivery of safe, effective, and compassionate care. You will lead and support the nursing team, contributing to the development of clinical practice and standards within the unit.

Location: Channel Islands
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Key Responsibilities:
- Patient Care: Deliver expert nursing care to neonates requiring intensive care, including the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care plans.
- Clinical Leadership: Provide clinical supervision and support to junior nurses and nursing students, promoting a positive learning environment.
- Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care for neonates and their families.
- Quality Assurance: Participate in the development and implementation of clinical guidelines and protocols, ensuring compliance with national standards.
- Family Support: Provide emotional and educational support to families, fostering positive relationships and effective communication.
- Training and Development: Mentor and train junior staff, promoting continuous professional development and adherence to best practices.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and comprehensive patient records, ensuring all documentation is up to date and compliant with legal and organizational standards.
- Research and Development: Engage in audit and research activities to enhance the quality of care within the NICU.
Requirements:
- Must have completed the Neonatal Qualified in Specialty (QIS) course.
- Must have completed the Neonatal Life Support course.
